Project Description:

Vitality for Life Health Center (VFL) came to OMIS.ca to create an online presence for their products and services as well give their clients an additional resource to educate and keep their clients up to date. The practitioners at the clinic received feedback from their clients inquiring to post information on the website further educating and informing their clients on the treatments and services provided.

Challenges:

  1. Who's the target audience? How do we cater the site regionally to those capable of visiting the clinic?

  2. How do we keep the website fresh with content in order to keep our clients coming back not only to the clinic but also to the website?

  3. How do we manage the ongoing costs of hosting and maintaining our website?

Solutions:

  1. Target Audience: Why only cater to a small region when the world could benefit from being educated on VFL's products & services? OMIS recommended optimizing the search engine ranking of the website in order for the entire world to have access to the information available but also paid special attention to catering to local and potential clients by optimizing the search engine ranking for local results as well.
  2. Keeping Content Fresh: By choosing a webmaster package with OMIS, VFL is able to email content updates such as articles, press releases and television appearances and have them updated within a matter of minutes. With a newsletter package that VFL also decided to include within their services, VFL is able to send out a monthly newsletter to all their clients informing them of news within the clinic, the industry and their website.
  3. Managing Costs: The bottom line is always a concern when it comes to establishing an online prescence. With VFL, OMIS established a non-intrusive, relevant advertising program in order to generate income from displaying ads on various pages of their website. After a few months, VFL was able to generate enough revenue from the advertising program to cover about 70% of the costs to host, manage and renew their website plan!

Results:

  1. Target Audience: VFL now receives hits/visits from all four corners of the world, educating viewers on their products and services and giving their viewers an initiative to seek those products and services where they are located. With extra attention paid to ranking well within their region, VFL frequently receives walk-in customers referred from their website based on a simple search engine search.

  2. Keeping Content Fresh: Through a quarterly newsletter and seasonal article updates, VFL is able to keep their current client-base coming back to their website and creating fresh content to attract new clients.

  3. Managing Costs: With the increasing traffic the website is generating and the income from the affiliate program, VFL is well on its way to cover their entire web operating costs and on their way to a zero-cost website!
